Keynote Speech with Ben Okri

  • The Albany Douglas Way London, England United Kingdom (map)

Join us for our annual Keynote by award-winning poet, cultural activist and novelist Ben Okri. His works have won numerous national and international prizes including the Booker Prize for Fiction, Aga Khan Prize for Fiction and Guardian Fiction Prize.

Okri’s latest book The Freedom Artist (2019) described by the Guardian as “savagely political, disturbing and fiercely optimistic” depicts a world in which books have disappeared and old stories are kept in secret.

He will follow last year’s Keynote given by writer Nii Ayikwei Parkes who was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize for his novel Tail of the Blue Bird (2009), and 2017’s speech by novelist Kerry Young.
